Adam Johnson, Sioux City Musketeers
The 20-year-old recorded five points (4g, 1a) and a plus-five rating to help his team win two of three games during the week. He had three points (2g, 1a) in Tuesday’s 8-4 victory over the Waterloo Black Hawks, including a shorthanded tally just 1:27 into the contest. He also posted a game high plus-four rating. Johnson added two more goals, including the game-winner, in Friday’s 6-3 victory against the Fargo Force. The Hibbing, Minnesota native and product of Hibbing-Chisholm High School is currently tied for fifth in USHL scoring with 18 points (9g, 9a) through 16 games, and he is tied for the League lead with three game-winning goals. He will play college hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth next season.
Cam Lee, Lincoln Stars
The defenseman had two points (1g, 1a) and registered a plus-seven rating in helping the Stars earn five of a possible six points in the standings during the week. He was a plus-one in Tuesday’s 5-2 victory over the Des Moines Buccaneers as the Stars snapped a three-game losing streak. The 17-year-old then scored a goal and finished with a game high plus-three rating in Friday’s 5-4 shootout loss to the Youngstown Phantoms. Lee then finished his week by dishing out an assist and again finishing with a game high plus-three rating in Sunday’s 4-3 overtime win against Youngstown. The Ferguson’s Cove, Nova Scotia native has eight points (4g, 4a) through 10 games this season, tying for 11th in scoring among USHL defensemen. He is committed to Providence College.
Stefanos Lekkas, Sioux Falls Stampede
The 18-year-old allowed just one goal over two starts to lead the Stampede to a pair of victories. He turned away all 19 shots in Friday’s 5-0 win against the Des Moines Buccaneers to post his first USHL career shutout. He followed up with 29 saves on Saturday in the 5-1 victory over the Waterloo Black Hawks, allowing the lone goal on a Waterloo power play. Lekkas has won three of his last four starts and is ranked eighth among USHL goaltenders with a 2.64 goals-against-average. The Elburn, Illinois native is product of the Chicago Mission and Team Illinois youth hockey organizations. He is committed to play collegiate hockey at the University of Vermont.
