Future Player

Our “rising sons” represent the best from across the country and around the globe – wherever great hockey is played – and they’ve come to the American heartland. We’re proud to have them, and to teach them the USHL way – strong in the classroom, on the puck, and in the community.

There’s not a faster or more focused track to the National Hockey League for those who are ready. A total of 28 USHL players were selected in last year’s 2011 NHL Entry Draft. More than 165 of our alumni are currently under NHL contract.

And let’s talk about how to get there the smart way - let’s talk academics. More than 250 USHL players from the 2011-12 season alone received scholarships to play NCAA Division I hockey. There is no greater testimonial to the work and dedication of our young men than to see them mature in the most challenging, most rewarding platform in sports. And no other league in the world, in any sport, provides that college route.

We’re different. We stand for something, in a sports world that increasingly doesn’t. We ask our players for a commitment to service, education, and opportunity through the extraordinary hockey gateway. There’s something special going on here – the smartest, fastest, toughest, most competitive hockey you’ve ever seen, played by the best young athletes you’ll ever know.
