Playoff Recap: Lincoln Leads Series 2-1 After OT Win

The Lincoln Stars earned a key road victory by defeating the Sioux Falls Stampede 4-3 in overtime to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series.

Lincoln had built a 3-1 lead early in the third period and looked to be on their way to a regulation victory, but Terry Broadhurst of Sioux Falls scored with just over three minutes to play, then scored again with 21 seconds remaining in the third as the Stampede had their goaltender pulled in favor of the extra attacker.

Eric Alexander became the overtime hero for Lincoln as he scored his first goal of the playoffs 4:33 into the extra session to seal the victory for the Stars.  Game Four of the series will be played on Friday in Sioux Falls.

Clark Cup playoff action resumes on Wednesday with two games.  The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders invade Indiana to take on the Ice in Game Three after the teams split the first two games of the series in Cedar Rapids.  Green Bay heads to Waterloo for Game Three holding a 2-0 series lead after winning both games on home ice.
