The Fargo Force kept their playoff momentum going by winning the first game of their best-of-five series 4-1 over the Lincoln Stars.
Andy Taranto scored his sixth goal of the playoffs and second game-winning goal in as many games for the Force. Chase Grant chipped in two goals and dished out one assist after being held scoreless in his first three games of the playoffs. Mike Lee made 37 saves in goal to earn the victory as Fargo remains unbeaten (4-0) this playoff season.
Matt Leitner added two assists for Fargo to stretch his playoff scoring streak to four games (1g, 7a). Eric Meland had the lone goal for Lincoln, his first goal of the playoffs.
The teams will meet again in Lincoln on Friday for Game Two of the series.
Playoff action resumes on Thursday as Green Bay hosts the Indiana Ice for Game One of the East Division finals.
