Fargo Rolls On; Takes 2-0 Series Lead

The Fargo Force remained undefeated (5-0) in the Clark Cup Playoffs as they defeated the Lincoln Stars 7-3 to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series.

Fargo was quick out of the gate as Grant Chase scored his third goal of the series just over three minutes into the contest.  The Force then scored a pair of goals in a span of 1:23 to jump out to a 3-0 lead.  Lincoln rallied with two goals in a span of 59 seconds to cut the lead to one, but it was as close as the Stars would get as Fargo added four more goals, including two by Josh Birkholz.

Kirt Hill recorded two goals for the Stars, but 13 different skaters registered a point for Fargo leading the club to its third consecutive road victory of the playoffs.  Andy Taranto tallied his fifth straight two-point playoff game as he dished out two assists.

The series now heads to Fargo on Saturday for Game Three.  Green Bay hosts Indiana on Saturday for Game Two after the Ice captured the first game of their best-of-series.
