Divjak Commits to Niagara University

The Waterloo Black Hawks announced that forward Patrick Divjak has committed to Niagara University and will attend the school beginning in the fall of 2010.

The 20-year-old native of Vienna, Austria has posted nine points (5g, 4a) in 10 games for the Black Hawks this season.  He has scored a goal in each of his last two games and is tied for the team lead with three power play goals.

"We felt we had a big opportunity when Patrick became available over the summer," said Waterloo Black Hawks Head Coach P.K. O'Handley.  "He's been a good fit with our power play centering a veteran group."

Divjak is in his third USHL season after spending the previous two with the Sioux Falls Stampede.  In 111 regular season games with the Stampede, the forward recorded 66 points (25g, 41a).  In 2008, he also competed for his native Austria at the IIHF World Junior Championship.

Niagara University is a member of College Hockey America (CHA) and has five former USHL players on the roster; Adam Avramenko (Green Bay Gamblers), Dan Baco (Lincoln Stars), Bryan Haczyk (Green Bay Gamblers), Robert Martini (Indiana Ice), and Chris Moran (Omaha Lancers).  Niagara assistant coach Tim Madsen spent two seasons as a player in the USHL (2002-04) split between the Waterloo Black Hawks and the Tri-City Storm.
