The United States Hockey League announced today that Des Moines Buccaneers forward Ryan Walters has been added to the roster for the West Division All-Stars and Cedar Rapids RoughRiders goaltender Troy Grosenick has been added to the roster for the East Division. The 2010 USHL All-Star Game takes place at the Pepsi Coliseum in Indianapolis, Indiana on Tuesday, January 26th, 2010.
Walters is playing in his third USHL season and has recorded 39 points (12g, 27a) through 35 games this season which ranks seventh in League scoring. The native of Rosemount, Minnesota is currently riding a six-game point streak (1g, 8a) and has registered a point in 16 of his last 17 contests. Walters, 18, played all 60 games for the Buccaneers last season and through 111 career USHL games, he has collected 86 points (30g, 56a).
Grosenick is playing his second USHL season for the RoughRiders. He leads all USHL goaltenders in appearances (31 games) and minutes played (1,756). The 20-year-old from Brookfield, Wisconsin has posted a 15-13-2 record this season, including two shutout victories. During his first USHL season, Grosenick compiled a 13-5-4 record in 24 appearances.
Walters will be replacing Matt Leitner of the Fargo Force who can't compete in the event due to a prior non-hockey commitment. Grosenick will replace Indiana Ice goaltender Cab Morris who can't compete in the event due to injury.
