The United States Hockey League announced today that Sioux City Musketeers defenseman Kevin Gravel has been added to the roster for the West Division All-Stars and Indiana Ice defenseman Nick Bailen has been added to the roster for the East Division.

Gravel is playing in his first USHL season.  The 6-4 defenseman has posted three points (2g, 1a) in 26 games for the Musketeers.  Gravel, 17, is a native of Kingsford, Michigan and was recently ranked 60th among North American skaters in the Midterm Rankings by NHL Central Scouting in advance of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.  He is committed to play hockey at St. Cloud State University following his USHL career.

Bailen leads Indiana Ice defensemen in scoring with 22 points (8g, 14a) through 32 games, which also ranks tied for fourth among all USHL defensemen.  The native of Fredonia, New York is playing in his fourth USHL season and has posted 64 points (21g, 43a) in 195 career games in the League.  The 20-year-old will play collegiate hockey at RPI next season.

Gravel and Bailen will take the roster spots of defensemen Eamonn McDermott (Fargo Force) and David Makowski (Green Bay Gamblers) who will not compete in the event due to injury.

The 2010 USHL All-Star Game takes place at the Pepsi Coliseum in Indianapolis, Indiana on Tuesday, January 26th, 2010.
