Team USA forward Adam Reid has committed to play collegiate hockey at Northeastern University.
Reid has collected nine points (4g, 5a) in 16 USHL games this season. On Thursday, he recorded a season high three-point game (1g, 2a) in the 5-2 win vs. Lincoln. The 17-year-old native of Chino Hills, California has scored three goals over his past four USHL contests.
Five other current USHL players are also committed to attend Northeastern University following their USHL careers; Anthony Bitetto (Indiana Ice), Brodie Reid (Lincoln Stars), Clay Witt (Sioux Falls Stampede), Jamie Oleksiak (Sioux Falls Stampede), and Luke Eibler (Youngstown Phantoms).
The Northeastern Huskies, members of Hockey East, currently have 12 former USHL players on its roster for the 2009-10; Chris Student (Waterloo), Jake Newton (Lincoln), David Strathman (Cedar Rapids), J.P. Maley (Des Moines), Garrett Vermeersch (Lincoln), Steve Quailer (Sioux City), Justin Daniels (Sioux City), Drew Daniels (Sioux City), Randy Guzior (Chicago), Steve Silva (Green Bay), Alex Tuckerman (Sioux City), and Robbie Vrolyk (Sioux Falls).
