Jeff Jauch, President and CEO of the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, announced that Travis Winter has joined the organization as Assistant Coach.
"We are very happy to add such an outstanding individual to our coaching staff. He comes very highly recommended within the hockey community," said Jauch.
Travis played two seasons (2003-05) in the USHL. As a member of the Indiana Ice during the 2004-05 season, the forward collected 42 points (21g, 21a) in 59 games. The native of St. Cloud, Minnesota went on to a four-year collegiate career at Bemidji State University (2005-09).
"Travis understands the importance of sheer hard work and sacrifice. He brings a tremendous passion for the game of hockey and the United States Hockey League," said Head Coach and General Manager Mark Carlson.
"He will be a tremendous asset to our players, our staff, and the Cedar Rapids community. We welcome Travis to our team."
Travis has served this season as a volunteer assistant coach for the men's hockey team at Saint John's University located in Collegeville, Minnesota.
