The Waterloo Black Hawks finished with the USHL’s best regular season record (44-11-5, 93 points), capturing the Anderson Cup title in addition to securing the top overall seed in the Clark Cup Playoffs. They will meet the Sioux Falls Stampede in a first-round series in the Western Conference beginning on Friday. The Omaha Lancers make a return to the postseason after a one-year absence and earned the second seed in the Western Conference. They are set to face the Sioux City Musketeers in a first-round series that opens on Saturday in Omaha.
In the Eastern Conference, the Indiana Ice won a team record 42 games to finish first in the standings by a margin of 17 points. They will meet the Green Bay Gamblers in the first round, who qualified for the playoffs on the final night of the regular season. That series begins Friday in Indianapolis. The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders return to the postseason after missing last year and secured the second seed in the Eastern Conference.
