Darren Smith, G, Madison Capitols
The goaltender posted a 1.84 goals-against-average and .941 save percentage over two appearances to lead the Capitols to a pair of victories. He came on in relief during the second period on Friday and stopped 23 of the 24 shots he faced the rest of the way. Smith then turned away all three attempts he faced in the shootout to earn a 6-5 shootout win against the Dubuque Fighting Saints. He then made 25 saves in the 5-2 victory over the Green Bay Gamblers on Saturday, his third straight road victory and the fourth consecutive win against the Wisconsin rivals. The 19-year-old is fifth among USHL goaltenders with a .912 SV% this season. He is a native of Barrie, Ontario and is committed to play college hockey at Ferris State University.
