By USHL

Lassi Yrjola & Ryan Larkin

Lassi Yrjola, Chicago Steel

The 20-year-old posted a 1.00 goals-against-average and .967 save percentage while leading the Steel to a pair of road victories.  He turned aside 29 shots, including all 15 in the first period, during Friday’s 5-2 win over the Madison Capitols.  Yrjola then stopped all 30 shots he faced in Saturday’s 1-0 overtime win against the Green Bay Gamblers.  It was his first USHL shutout and extended his win streak to three games.  He has won five of his eight starts since joining the Steel one month ago.  The goaltender is a product of the Ilves hockey club in his hometown of Tampere, Finland.  He is currently uncommitted to a college hockey program.

Ryan Larkin, Cedar Rapids RoughRiders

The 17-year-old stopped all 46 shots he faced, including 19 in the third period, during Saturday’s 5-0 win against the Youngstown Phantoms.  It was his second shutout of the season and the 46 saves are the most by a USHL goaltender in a shutout performance this season.  He currently leads all League netminders in both GAA (2.05) and SV% (.931) to go along with his 11-4-0 record.  The Clarkston, Michigan native is a product of the Honeybaked youth hockey organization and is committed to play college hockey at Miami University.  Larkin is also a top prospect for the 2015 NHL Draft.
