Fredrik Olofsson, Chicago Steel
The 18-year-old had a six-point weekend (4g, 2a) as the Steel won two of three games. He netted a goal in Friday’s 3-2 win against the Green Bay Gamblers. Playing his 100th USHL career game on Saturday, he had a USHL career high four points (2g, 2a), including the game-winning goal, in the 5-3 victory over the Muskegon Lumberjacks. He also equaled a game high with a plus-four rating. Olofsson rounded out the weekend with another goal in Sunday’s 5-2 loss to the Madison Capitols. The 2014 NHL Draft pick of the Chicago Blackhawks is currently tied for 10th in USHL scoring with 45 points (22g, 23a) through 41 games. The product of the Colorado Thunderbirds youth program is committed to the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Steven Spinner, Omaha Lancers
The forward recorded five points (4g, 1a) and posted a plus-four rating to lead the Lancers to a pair of weekend victories. He equaled a USHL career high with three points (2g, 1a) in Friday’s 7-1 victory over Team USA, including scoring the game-winning goal. The 19-year-old followed up with another two-goal performance in Saturday’s 5-1 win against the Fargo Force. It was the first two multi-goal games of his USHL career. The 2014 NHL Draft pick of the Washington Capitals ranks third in scoring on the Lancers with 28 points (14g, 14a) through 43 games this season. Spinner is a product of Eden Prairie High School in Minnesota and will play collegiate hockey at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
