Defenseman: Michael Joyaux – Omaha Lancers

3 games: 1 goal, 3 assists, +1 rating

Joyaux’s first USHL Defenseman of the Week honor comes after the Bloomingdale, IL native dished out three assists in a 5-4 overtime win over the Western Conference leading Tri-City Storm on Friday night. He added a power play goal in the Lancers 5-4 overtime win over the Storm on Saturday night, giving him a four-point weekend. He finished the season with 14 points, ranking Joyaux second in team scoring by defensemen. Joyaux played for the Chicago Mission Bantam and U16 programs (HPHL), as well as the Tri-City Storm and Chicago Steel before being traded to Omaha earlier in the season. He has 35 points in 119 career USHL games. The uncommitted defenseman was a 2013 USHL Phase I Draft pick of the Tri-City Storm in the 6th round pick, 77th overall.
