CCM Players of the Week: Week 25

Boston Bruins prospect Daniel Vladar wins second weekly award with USHL scoring leader Rem Pitlick and Green Bay defenseman Cameron Lee.

 

The United States Hockey League announced the CCM Forward, Defenseman and Goaltender of the Week for Week 25 of the 2015-16 season. USHL scoring leader Rem Pitlick won his third weekly honor after scoring his first career USHL hat trick, while Boston Bruins prospect Daniel Vladar earned his second weekly honor after winning back-to-back starts. Defenseman Cameron Lee won his second weekly award after a pair of Green Bay wins this weekend. CCM Hockey is the official equipment partner of the USHL.

 

 

Forward: Rem Pitlick – Muskegon Lumberjacks

2 games: 5 goals, 1 assist, +2 rating

 

Pitlick extended his USHL scoring lead with a five-goal weekend, including his first career USHL hat trick. Pitlick scored twice and added an assist Friday night, setting a new Muskegon Lumberjacks single season scoring record. Pitlick followed the performance Saturday night with a hat trick, reaching 38 goals on the year. The Plymouth, MN native is looking to become the first USHL player to reach 40 goals since Matheson Iacopelli (Muskegon Lumberjacks) accomplished the feat during the 2013-14 season. The second year NHL Draft eligible forward previously played for Shattuck St. Mary’s prior to being selected by the Waterloo Black Hawks in the 2013 USHL Phase I Draft in the 1st round, 12th overall and is committed to play college hockey at the University of Minnesota.

 

 

Defenseman: Cameron Lee – Green Bay Gamblers

2 games: 0 goals, 2 assists, +3 rating

 

Lee dished out two assists and finished with a solid +3 rating on the week. Lee was credited with two assists Saturday night on the power play, in addition to a +1 rating on the night. Lee is skating in his second USHL season and first with the Green Bay Gamblers. After scoring 15 points in 53 games last season with the Lincoln Stars, Lee has doubled his production with 33 points in 50 games and is ranked fifth in scoring by USHL defensemen this season. The Ferguson’s Cove, NS native was selected by the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the 2013 USHL Phase I Draft in the 4th round, 53rd overall after playing for Northwood School Prep (USHS) and Cardigan Mountain School (USHS). Earlier this season, Lee announced his commitment to Western Michigan University.

 

 

Goaltender: Daniel Vladar – Chicago Steel

2-0-0-0, 0.94 GAA, .964 SV%

 

Vladar won back-to-back starts over the weekend including a 36-save shootout win. Vladar stopped 36 of 37 shots Saturday in addition to all five shootout attempts for a 2-1 win one night after stopping 17 of 18 shots. The 2015 NHL Draft pick of the Boston Bruins is playing in his first USHL season and is 9-9-1-3 with a 2.08 GAA and .926 SV%. Vladar ranks second among all USHL goaltenders in goals against average and save percentage. The Prague, CZE native was selected by the Chicago Steel in the 2015 USHL Phase II Draft in the 1st round, 7th overall and has played for the Czech U20 national team the past two years.
