The Lincoln Stars evened their Western Conference Semifinals series with the Waterloo Black Hawks thanks to a resounding 5-0 shutout at home. Peyton Jones stopped all 23 shots he faced en route to becoming only the second goaltender this postseason to post a shutout.
Defenseman Trevor Hamilton scored twice in the win, and the Stars also got goals from Joachim Weberg, Colin Peters, and Grant Jozefek. Peters and Hamilton both finished with three-point nights, while Jozefek finished with two.
The Stars killed off all four Waterloo power plays, as well as scored a power play goal of their own. Game 3 will commence next Saturday night at Young Arena for a back-to-back set in Waterloo.
