The Green Bay Gamblers 5th annual Military Appreciation Night will be held on Saturday, November 12 at the Resch. All active and retired military personnel receive a complimentary ticket. As part of the annual event, Gamblers players will wear military inspired helmets and jerseys. Proceeds from the post-game helmet and jersey auction will be donated to the local chapter of Disabled American Veterans.
In 2014, Gamblers head coach Pat Mikesch began Goals for the Military. For each goal scored by the Gamblers on Military Appreciation Night, Mikesch donated $100 to the DAV. Mikesch, along with 17 other businesses and individuals, will participate in the Goals for the Military Fund this season.
Last year the game drew 5,777 fans as the Gamblers blanked the Bloomington Thunder 2-0. In total, the game raised $25,000 for the DAV.
“The money raised allows the DAV to fund different projects in northeast Wisconsin,” said Gamblers sales manager/media relations director Jason Habeck. “These programs include their transportation program, honor guard, and involvement with local veterans who have significant issues. It’s great to see the communities of Northeast Wisconsin support such a worthy cause.”
Start time between the Gamblers and Dubuque Fighting Saints is set for 7:05 PM. For additional information go to gamblershockey.com.
