Madison Capitols vs. Green Bay Gamblers

Saturday: 7:05 pm CST

Green Bay leads the season series 3-1-1-0 and could potentially be on its way to their first Cheese Cup. Madison has won the Wisconsin head-to-head rivalry the past two years, but will need to start its comeback this weekend with just four games remaining between the two teams this year.

The Gamblers have been the USHL’s best power play team all season, and look to build upon their 24.1% success rate. Jared Spooner and Dante Palecco have combined for 11 power play goals, while defenseman Connor Mackey has dished out 17 assists while on the man advantage. Palecco has come up big for the Gamblers in many ways this season, scoring five game-winning goals. The Yale University commit is three goals and three points away from tying his career-best scoring marks.

Madison’s penalty kill unit will look to Dryden McKay in net to stifle Green Bay. McKay, who played with the Gamblers at the USHL Fall Classic, has won five of his last six starts and sports a 2.47 GAA and .927 sv% on the year. His back-to-back wins last weekend earned him USHL Goaltender of the Week honors for the second time this season.

McKay wasn’t the only award-winner in Madison after last weekend. Forward Kamil Sadlocha scored both game-winning goals for the Capitols and has found an offensive rhythm since playing in the USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. The Ohio State University commit has six points in seven games since New Year’s. Easton Brodzinski will also play a role in the Capitols game plan. The St. Cloud State University commit has 25 points in 22 games with Madison this season, and is coming off a five-game point streak.
