USHL Alumni In NCAA Tournament

USHL alumni headline 2017 NCAA Tournament Storylines

 

More than 250 USHL alumni have earned the chance to play for a college hockey national championship with their respective schools this season. But it’s not just the number of USHL alumni in the tournament that may take fans by surprise. More than 75% of NHL Draft picks playing in the tournament previously played in the USHL, three coaches spent time refining their craft in the junior league prior to the college ranks, and nominees for the Hobey Baker Award and Mike Richter Award spent time in the USHL prior to college.

 

Every team in the NCAA Tournament has at least one former Clark Cup champion, and every USHL team has at least one alum featured in the final 16 teams. The Frozen Four is set to take place April 6 and 8 in Chicago, IL, home of the USHL headquarters.
