The final two weeks of the USHL’s 2016-17 season is shaping up to be one of the craziest fights to the finish in recent memory. Multiple playoff spots are up for grabs in both the Eastern and Western Conference, and it won’t at all be surprising to see teams fight for those spots through the final day of the regular season on April 8.
The Sioux City Musketeers have regained their top spot in the USHL power rankings thanks to an 8-1-0-0 record in March heading into their final game of the month. Sioux City, in addition to Chicago and Waterloo, has already clinched a playoff spot and is hoping to secure home ice advantage as early as this weekend. The Musketeers will look to finish the regular season strong and capture the organization’s first Anderson Cup since the 1985-86 campaign.
The usahockeymagazine.com April Power Rankings takes a look at the USHL heading into the final two weeks of the regular season. 21 media members rank the teams 1st to 17th, and the votes are compiled into overall rankings. Power Rankings are determined on a monthly basis and run until Clark Cup Playoffs. Listed below are the teams, their record and number of first place votes in parenthesis.
