Youngstown forces Game 5 with 3-2 victory over Chicago.

CHICAGO STEEL [2] at YOUNGSTOWN PHANTOMS [3]

(Series tied 2-2)

Youngstown forced a deciding Game 5 with top-seeded Chicago thanks to a 3-2 Game 4 victory at Covelli Centre. It was a scoreless game until late in the opening period, when Austin Pooley found the back of the net for the first time in the series to give the Phantoms a 1-0 lead heading into the second. Just a minute into period two, Youngstown doubled their lead to 2-0 thanks to Coale Norris's first goal of the postseason, and the Phantoms held that advantage heading into the final 20 minutes of play. Halfway through the third, Steel captain Marc Johnstone scored his second goal of the series to get his time on the board and cut the Youngstown lead in half to 2-1. Evan Wisocky tallied his first of the playoffs two and a half minutes later to make it a 3-1 game before Eduards Tralmaks found the back of the net for Chicago just 50 seconds later. Despite a late push from Chicago, Youngstown was able to hang on for the final seven minutes of the game to win Game 4 and even the series. Ivan Kulbakov stopped 16 of the 18 shots he faced to earn his second victory of the postseason.
