Dubuque evens Eastern Conference Final at one game apiece with 3-1 win over Chicago.

DUBUQUE FIGHTING SAINTS [3] at CHICAGO STEEL [1]

A pair of second period goals were the difference in the game as the Dubuque Fighting Saints knocked off the Chicago Steel 3-1 in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final to even the series at 1-1. Following a scoreless opening frame that saw Chicago outshoot Dubuque 10-8, the Fighting Saints opened the scoring midway through the second with a Veli-Matti Tiuraniemi goal right off the faceoff to give Dubuque a 1-0 lead. The goal was the Miami commit's first of the postseason. About seven minutes later, a Patrick Kudla blast on the power play, the second of the playoffs for the Arizona Coyotes prospect, doubled the Dubuque lead to 2-0, and the Fighting Saints held that lead heading into the final 20 minutes. With seven minutes to play, Austin Rueschhoff's third of the playoffs made it a 3-0 game before Eduards Tralmaks got Chicago on the board 55 seconds later to cut the lead to 3-1. That's as close as the Steel would get, as Dubuque hung on for the final six minutes to pick up the win and even the series. Jaxon Castor stopped 34 of the 35 shots he faced to move his playoff record to 4-2.
