2017 U17 Five Nations Roster Announced

FUTURE USHL PLAYERS WERE NAMED TO USA HOCKEY'S UNDER-17 SELECT TEAM THAT WILL COMPETE IN THE U17 FIVE NATIONS TOURNAMENT.

USA Hockey announced the 20-man roster for the U.S. Under-17 Select Team that will compete that will compete Aug. 23-27 at the Five Nations Tournament in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

 

18 of the 20 players named to the roster have been either drafted or tendered by USHL teams, including 10 players already with college commitments. The roster includes 2017 USHL Phase I Draft first overall pick Grant Sillianoff (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders) as well as Chicago Steel tender Robert Mastrosimone.

 

The annual tournament, which features many of the world’s best hockey players under the age of 17, will include national teams from the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia and Switzerland, in addition to the United States.

 

Team USA won the Under-17 Five Nations Tournament last year in Frisco, Texas, posting a perfect 4-0 record. It marked the seventh championship in nine tries for the U.S., which also claimed top honors in 2015, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010 and 2008.
