Gino Gasparini

Gino Gasparini

Gino Gasparini enters his 13th season with the USHL and his fifth as president, having previously served as the league's commissioner. Gasparini's main duties are to oversee the everyday operations of the league, but his influence goes far beyond everyday tasks. Gasparini's tenure in the USHL can be termed nothing but a success, with consistent growth in the league's annual attendance, NCAA scholarships received, and NHL draft selections. Gasparini's leadership has helped drive the league to new heights, as it continues to expand into new markets, widening the league's already impressive footprint. And if that isn't enough, Gasparini was the driving force behind the USHL becoming America's first and only Tier I junior league, making it the finest league, both on and off the ice, for developing young hockey talent in the United States. Gasparini began shaping his hockey legacy in 1978 with a 16-year stint as head coach at the University of North Dakota. While there, Gasparini guided the Fighting Sioux to three Division I national championships (1980, 1982, 1987), and four WCHA championships (1979, 1980, 1982, 1987). In addition, Gasparini had 18 players named All-American and helped numerous reach the NHL. Gasparini performed double duty from 1985-90, when he was UND's head coach and director of athletics. Gasparini resides in Grand Forks, N.D., with his wife, Kathleen. They have three sons - Tony, Andrew, and Joseph - and five grandchildren - Niko, Mario, Gianna, Megan, and Sergio.

Jim Kronschnabel

Jim Kronschnabel

Jim Kronschnabel is in his second season as the Chairman of the USHL's Board of Governors. In his position with the board, Kronschnabel is responsible for the oversight of the board, its committees and acts as a liasion to the league's general managers. He also works closely with the league president on the everyday operation of the league. Kronschnabel is the managing partner of Siouxland Sports, which purchased the Sioux City Musketeers in 2002. Since the purchase, Sioux City has built a new arena and seen their corporate sponsorship and ticket sales reach unprecendented numbers. A native of St. Paul, MN, Kronschnabel has an extensive hockey and business background. Following his junior career he went on to play Division I hockey at Colorado College. He has also spent many years coaching at various levels of youth hockey. Away from hockey, Kronschnabel spent 23 years working in the computer graphics industry. Kronschnabel has three adult children - Andy, Katy and Charlie. Charlie played in the USHL from 2001-03 with the now defunct Tulsa Crude and the River City Lancers. He parlayed his USHL time into a scholarship at the University of Alaska-Anchorage and is currently playing professionally in the American Hockey League.

Scott Brand

Scott Brand

Scott Brand enters his 24th season as a part of the USHL, and 12th as the league's Director of Hockey Operations. He also serves as the full-time Director of Officiating for the North American Hockey League as well as the Junior B Minnesota Junior Hockey League, Metropolitan Junior Hockey League and Atlantic Junior Hockey League. Brand is responsible for the recruitment, supervision, development and placement of officials for the four leagues. His playing background includes holding the Central Junior Hockey League penalty minute record as well as an appearance in the 1985 USA Hockey Jr. B National Tournament. Brand, who came to the USHL in 1984 as an on-ice official, served as the USHL's Referee-In-Chief from 1990-92 and again on an interim basis for part of 1993-94 season. Brand was a junior hockey referee for ten seasons (1982-92), eight of which came in the USHL. His highlights include 4 USHL All-Star Games, 4 National Championships and 8 USHL Championship series. Brand also served as a professional hockey official from 1988-92 in the East Coast Hockey League and the International Hockey League. Brand held general manager positions for the Waterloo Black Hawks and Dubuque Fighting Saints following his officiating career. Brand was also a founder and Vice President and General Manager of the Waterloo Bucks minor league baseball team. Brand resides in Woodbury, Minn.

Jon Garver

Jon Garver

Jon Garver is in his second season as the Director of Media and Public Relations for the USHL. This comes on the heels of a three-season stint as the league's assistant commissioner from 2001-2004. During the 2006-07, the USHL enjoyed an increase in national media exposure, including a front page cover story in USA Today. As a player, Garver skated four seasons at University of Wisconsin-Superior, competing in three NCAA Division III Frozen Fours. He was named team captain during his senior season and was a two-time NCHA All-Academic selection. He was elected to the UW-Superior Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007 as a member of the 1996-97 Yellowjackets that finished as the national runners-up. Garver spent two seasons in the USHL with Sioux City and Waterloo. He was among the league leaders in power play goals during the 1992-93 season and still holds the USHL record for the fastest goal from the start of a period, scoring five seconds into the third period against the Wisconsin Capitols on November 21, 1992. Garver earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Administration and a Master's Degree in Mass Communication from the UW-Superior. He resides in Woodbury, Minn.

Kyle Kosior

Kyle Kosior

Kyle Kosior is in his first season with the USHL, joining the league as the Assistant to the President after graduating with honors from the University of North Dakota School of Law. While at UND, Kosior co-founded the UND Sports Law Society and served as Dean of the Delta Theta Phi law fraternity. Kosior got a taste of the business side of hockey when he held an internship with the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey league and later graduated from the Sports Management Worldwide (SMWW) Hockey Management Course. Kosior played hockey in Fillmore, Midale, and Stoughton, Saskatchewan, and later joined the Sportchek Hurricanes of the ASHL, a team based out of Regina, Saskatchewan and then the UND School of Law Hockey Team. Kosior coached a bantam team in Fillmore Saskatchewan from 1992 to 1995. Kosior currently plays for the Winnipeg Dynamo in the Winnipeg Central Hockey League. A native of Fillmore, Saskatchewan, Kosior earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Geography from the University of Regina. In addition to hockey, Kyle enjoys baseball and hunting. He resides in Grand Forks, N.D. with his wife, Amanda.

Doug Miller

Doug Miller

Doug Miller is in his first season as the USHL's new Director of Corporate Sales and Sponsorships. The native of northeast Iowa has spent the last six seasons with the Waterloo Black Hawks as General Manager of Business Operations. During his time in Waterloo, the Black Hawks have enjoyed unparalleled growth in ticket and sponsorship sales. The Black Hawks have increased their attendance in each of the last five seasons, making them the first team at any level of hockey to accomplish the feat since the NHL's Boston Bruins did it from 1969 to 1974. The Black Hawks have been named the USHL's Organization of the Year three times (2003, 2005, 2007) since Miller's arrival. Miller has also spent time at other levels of hockey, serving as the General Manager of the Topeka ScareCrows (CHL) and the Billings Bulls (AWHL). Miller graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor's Degree in public relations. Miller spends his time away from hockey with his wife Heather, sons Andrew (19), Chase (6) and daughter Jessica (16). When they need a break from him, he enjoys riding his motorcycle, kayaking and working on moderately easy home improvements.

Bob Turow

Bob Turow

Bob Turow is beginning his third season as the Director of Central Scouting for the USHL. In his first two years with the league, Turow has assembled a staff that routinely scouts games throughout North America, created the league's first comprehensive draft lists and rankings and established a series of league scouting showcases. Turow, a lifelong resident of Kitchener, Ontario, played all of his minor and junior hockey in the region, including a stint with the Kitchener Ranger B's. Turow later began volunteering as a Rep Coach in Kitchener where he was part of two provincial championship teams. He began scouting for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League as an area scout in 1994. In the next seven years Turow advanced within the club to the title of Provincial Scout and later was named a Coordinator. In 1995, Turow established the Prospects Hockey Tournament in Toronto to provide a venue for elite athletes to showcase their skills to scouts, coaches and general managers in the NHL, NCAA, USHL and CHL among other leagues. Today, Prospects is widely considered the premier showcase tournament in North America with its alumni accounting for over 900 NCAA players, over 700 USHL players and over 500 NHL draft picks. Turow resides in Kitchener with his two daughters - MacKenzie and Alexandra.
