Forward Aidan Thompson rejoins the Lincoln Stars after finishing second on last season's team with 33 points (10-23-33) in 52 games.
"Aidan obviously established himself in the second half of the year as a 200-foot player. He’s always been an offensive threat, but his willingness to compete back towards the net and play on the defensive side of the puck has really taken his game to the next level. We’re going to expect him to be an offensive catalyst for us and play in those demanding roles, but I suspect he’ll be used as a penalty killer and a guy we’ll lean on to win important faceoffs in our own end late in the game. I think he’s going to prove why he deserves to be selected in the NHL Draft next summer."

"I’m very fortunate to inherit a group that has a great amount of experience. There’s a lot of guys that are excited to get back to Lincoln this year and proving that the late-season success they had last year was no fluke.
We’ve started to really build our culture right away and the accountability and attention to detail that is necessary to win hockey games in the USHL are being set in place. It’s up to our players to take it and bring it alive. I think we have a great defensive core and goaltending with Kaidan Mbereko and the two young guys coming in to battle for that second spot.
And then you have some veterans up front that are going to be able to set the tone. Guys like Noah Laba, Yu Sato and Griffin Jurecki have experience that is going to be huge for our group. They’re going to be able to set the tone as leaders off the ice as well. I’m really excited. I’m excited about our staff, I’m excited about our team and I can’t wait to get the puck dropped."
