Fargo Force defenseman Chris Buchanan has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at Bentley University beginning next season.

Buchanan has recorded eight points (3g, 5a) and 85 penalty minutes over 36 games this season with the Force.  He netted his first USHL goal in a 5-2 loss to the Chicago Steel on November 2nd, 2013.  It is the second season with the Force for the 19-year-old as he registered seven assists and 62 penalty minutes in 46 games during the 2012-13 campaign.  The defenseman also dished out two assists in 13 playoff games as the Force made a run to the Clark Cup Final series.

The San Jose, California native played his youth hockey with the San Jose Jr. Sharks organization before playing junior hockey in the NAHL during the 2011-12 season with the Alaska Avalanche.

Buchanan is joined by Force teammate Tanner Jago who also recently committed to Bentley.  Two other current USHL players also have plans to attend the school – Ryan McMurphy (Tri-City Storm) and Kyle Schmidt (Sioux City Musketeers).
