The Anaheim Ducks signed forward Nic Kerdiles and defenseman Jaycob Megna to three-year NHL entry-level contracts.  Both were NHL Draft picks of the club.

Kerdiles spent two seasons in the USHL with Team USA (2010-12).  As a rookie with the Under-17 squad, he put up 20 points (12g, 8a) in 32 USHL contests, including six goals over his last eight games.  He then recorded 13 points (4g, 9a) in 18 games the next season with Team USA’s Under-18 squad.  He also helped Team USA win gold at both the 2011 and 2012 IIHF World Under-18 Championship.

Following his second season in the USHL, Kerdiles was selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the second round (36th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.  He was one of the top scorers for the University of Wisconsin each of the last two seasons, putting up 71 points (26g, 45a) over 60 career games at the school.  The 20-year-old from Irvine, California was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team this season.

Megna recorded 18 points (1g, 17a) in 55 games during the 2010-11 season with the Muskegon Lumberjacks.  The lone goal for the big defenseman came during an 8-4 victory against the Green Bay Gamblers on January 16th, 2011.  The Northbrook, Illinois native also dished out three assists for the Lumberjacks in six playoff contests.

The 21-year-old spent the last three seasons playing collegiate hockey at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, recording 22 points (4g, 18a) in 105 career games at the school.  He was an Academic All-Conference selection in each of the last two seasons.  He was selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the seventh round (210th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft following his freshman season.

Megna is the second member of his family to play in the USHL and sign a NHL contract, joining brother Jayson Megna who spent two seasons with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (2009-11) and made his NHL debut this season with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
