Musketeers Forward Commits to University of Maine

Sioux City Musketeers forward Cedric Lacroix has committed to play collegiate hockey at the University of Maine following his USHL career.

Lacroix recorded 19 points (8g, 11a) and a plus-five rating over 54 regular season games for the Musketeers.  He netted three goals over his last six games, including in each of the last two games of the regular season.  The Shefford, Quebec native finished the regular season fifth in the USHL with 141 penalty minutes.  It is the second season in Sioux City for the 19-year-old after he collected seven points (6g, 1a) and 155 penalty minutes in 53 games for the Musketeers last year.

Two other current USHL players are also committed to the University of Maine – Waterloo Black Hawks forward Liam Pecararo and Youngstown Phantoms goaltender Sean Romeo.

Maine is a member of Hockey East and had 11 USHL alumni on the roster this season; Dan Renouf (Youngstown Phantoms), Ryan Lomberg (Muskegon Lumberjacks), Cam Brown (Youngstown Phantoms), Stu Higgins (Youngstown Phantoms), Eric Schurhamer (Lincoln/Waterloo), Mark Anthoine (Sioux Falls/Chicago), Matt Morris (Dubuque Fighting Saints), Jon Swavely (Sioux City Musketeers), Brian Morgan (Muskegon/Indiana), Dan Sullivan (Omaha Lancers), and Josh Henke (Tri-City/Muskegon).
