The Fargo Force have selected forward Riley Tufte with the first overall pick in Phase 1 of the 2014 USHL Draft.
Tufte recorded 35 points (17g, 18a) over 25 games this past season playing high school hockey in Minnesota for Blaine High, helping to lead the Bengals to a 20-4-1 overall record. He added two assists in three state playoff games. It was a breakout season for the sophomore after he recorded three points (2g, 1a) as a freshman for Blaine last year.
The 6-4, 200-pound forward also recently committed to play college hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the USHL celebrates its 12th season as the nation's only Tier I junior hockey league in 2013-14. A record 32 players were chosen in the 2013 NHL Draft and more than 300 players on team rosters last season have committed to NCAA Division I schools, further establishing the USHL as the world’s foremost producer of junior hockey talent.
