Fredrik Olofsson, Chicago Steel
The 18-year-old recorded six points (5g, 1a) as the Steel split a pair of weekend contests. He netted three goals in Friday’s 4-3 victory over the Bloomington Thunder. He scored two of his goals in the third period, including the game-winner. It was the first hat trick of his USHL career. Olofsson then followed up with two more goals and one assist in Saturday’s 4-3 loss to the Muskegon Lumberjacks. The big weekend has him tied for first overall in the USHL with seven goals through seven games this season and tied for fifth in scoring with nine points (7g, 2a). His seven goals surpass the six total he scored in 52 games last season. The forward was a 2014 NHL Draft pick of the Chicago Blackhawks and recently made a college hockey commitment to the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
