Josh Melnick, Youngstown Phantoms
The forward recorded six points (3g, 3a) and a plus-six rating to lead the Phantoms to a pair of victories against the Fargo Force and extend their win streak to 10 games. He dished out an assist in Friday’s 3-2 shootout victory before having a USHL career high five-point night (3g, 2a) in Saturday’s 7-1 win. The 19-year-old scored three consecutive goals, including a shorthanded tally, in a span of 12:08 of game action to record the natural hat trick. It was the first multi-goal game of his USHL career that has spanned 99 games. Melnick is riding an eight-game point streak (3g, 14a) and is now tied for fifth in USHL scoring with 50 points (11g, 39a) while leading the League in assists (39). The Annandale, New Jersey native is a product of Delbarton School and is committed to play college hockey at Princeton University.
