April USHL Power Rankings

04/01/2016, 11:00am CDT

The final USA Hockey Magazine Power Rankings of the season previews the Clark Cup Playoffs and takes a look at some potential returning names for next season.

Five teams have secured a berth in the Clark Cup Playoffs, and the remaining two weeks of the season will determine the final three teams that will look to raise the Clark Cup as USHL champions. In terms of regular season trophies, Cedar Rapids is three points away from clinching the Anderson Cup and heading into the Clark Cup Playoffs as the top team in the league. While playoff teams in the Eastern Conference are settled, it is much more exciting in the Western Conference, as third through fifth place are only separated by five points. Two points separate fourth and fifth place, which means there will be quite the exciting finish to determine the final playoff team out west.

The April Power Rankings look ahead to Clark Cup Playoffs with five games remaining for most teams, as well as top rookie scorers who look to carry their success into their second USHL season. 12 media members rank the teams from 1st to 17th, and the votes are compiled into overall rankings. Power Rankings are decided on a monthly basis and run until Clark Cup Playoffs. Listed below are the teams, their record and number of first place votes in parenthesis.

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the USHL celebrates its 14th season as the nation's only Tier I junior hockey league in 2015-16.  A record 37 players were chosen in the 2015 NHL Draft and more than 375 players on team rosters last season committed to NCAA Division I schools, further establishing the USHL as the world’s foremost producer of junior hockey talent.
