The Bloomington Thunder responded in a huge way in Game 2, as they took down the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders 7-2 to even their Eastern Conference Semifinals series at one game apiece.
The Thunder were spurred by four second period goals in the win as well as three power play goals. Jake Slaker and Jake Durflinger had two tallies each, and Logan Lambdin, Alec Mehr and Ethan Somoza also found the back of the net. Mehr finished with a three-point night to lead both teams in offense.
Bloomington was 4/5 on the penalty kill, and Hayden Lavigne stopped 26 of 28 Cedar Rapids shots to tie up the series. The pivotal Game 3 will take place Friday night as US Cellular Coliseum, in the first-ever Clark Cup Playoffs game hosted by the Bloomington Thunder in their two-year history.
