The Tri-City Storm completed the three-game sweep to advance to the Clark Cup Western Conference Final, and will be awaiting the winner of the Lincoln Stars and Waterloo Black Hawks series.
After Sioux Falls forward Carson Gicewicz opened the scoring, Tri-City responded with four consecutive goals for a 4-1 win, and 3-0 series sweep. Jake Kielly stopped 32 of 33 shots to improve upon is .965 SV% in Clark Cup Playoffs. Max Humitz and Alex Limoges opened the scoring for the Storm, while Nico Sturm added the second period’s third goal. Dan Labosky finished the game with a power play goal with two minutes remaining. Carson Meyer was credited with two assists on the night.
Sioux Falls goaltender Stefanos Lekkas ended his illustrious USHL career with a 40-save night. The Black Hawks and Stars series is currently tied 1-1. Tri-City will have home ice advantage as the 1 seed against either potential opponent.
