Steve Merl got Bloomington on the board in the first period, but it was all Dubuque after that. The Fighting Saints scored seven consecutive goals beginning in the second period. Dallas Gerads started the scoring, with Ford, Michael O’Leary and Petter Makitalo all adding on.

Ford and O’Leary both tallied their second goals of the night in the third period, while Willie Knierim scored his third goal of Clark Cup Playoffs. Gordon Green finished the night with three assists. Goaltender Hunter Miska stopped 18 of 19 shots on the night. Dubuque will look to take a 2-0 series lead Saturday night at home.
