Lincoln Stars forward Henry Bowlby committed to Harvard University, he announced via Twitter on Monday.
“It's a great academic school and academics have always been important for me and my family,” Bowlby said. “It will be awesome to pursue my hockey and academic career at Harvard.”
Bowlby is in his second season with the Stars. The 6'1" 190 pound forward has seven goals and ten assists in 64 USHL games. Prior to joining the Stars, he posted 23 points in 50 games at Edina High School (USHS).
“I think they're going to make me a smarter hockey player and help me develop my game offensively,” Bowlby said.
Bowlby becomes the 18th college commit on the Stars roster. The Edina, MN native was selected in the 2015 USHL Phase II Draft by Lincoln in the 7th round, 109th overall.
Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the USHL celebrates its 15th season as the nation's only Tier I junior hockey league in 2016-17. 30 or more players from the USHL have been selected in four consecutive NHL Drafts, and more than 400 players on team rosters last season committed to NCAA Division I schools, further establishing the USHL as the world’s foremost producer of junior hockey talent.
