Muskegon Lumberjacks forward Anthony Del Gaizo recently announced his commitment to play college hockey at the University of Massachusetts. He will join his brother and current teammate Marc Del Gaizo in Amherst.
We have a really exciting recruiting class with some great players. There’s a whole new attitude to the team,” said Del Gaizo. “I think [the coaches] have very similar personalities- they’re all about the team. They do a good job of finding guys to fit the right situations, and have a very methodical approach of how they assemble their team.”
A Basking Ridge, NJ native, Del Gaizo has two goals and three assists in fifteen games this season. He previously played for the New Jersey Rockets (EHL) and Delbarton School (USHS).
Del Gaizo becomes the 16th player on Muskegon’s roster committed to play Division 1 college hockey.
Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the USHL celebrates its 15th season as the nation's only Tier I junior hockey league in 2016-17. 30 or more players from the USHL have been selected in four consecutive NHL Drafts, and more than 400 players on team rosters last season committed to NCAA Division I schools, further establishing the USHL as the world’s foremost producer of junior hockey talent.
