In the annual Thanksgiving game in Waterloo, the Black Hawks edged the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders 1-0 at Young Arena.  The two teams played a scoreless first period, with Waterloo outshooting Cedar Rapids 17-4. The middle frame featured more of the same, with the Black Hawks putting up 13 shots and the RoughRiders managing five shots on goal to give Waterloo a combined 30-9 advantage in shots through two periods. But despite the disparity in shots, the two teams headed to the final 20 minutes deadlocked in a scoreless tie. Waterloo was able to break the tie early in the third, thanks to Emil Ohrvall’s fifth goal of the season. Logan Jenuwine and Ace Cowans added the assist on Ohrvall’s tally. The third period was more even in shots, with the Black Hawks outshooting the RoughRiders 5-4 in the frame. Shots on goal finished 34-14 in favor of Waterloo. Robbie Beydoun stopped all 14 shots he faced for his fourth shutout of the season. The Michigan Tech commit is now 7-4-0-1 on the season. With the win, the Black Hawks move to 12-5-0-1, and are  6-3-0-1 in their last 10 games. They remain alone in second place in the Western Conference.
