Green Bay Gamblers defenseman Jackson Charlesworth has announced his commitment to play college hockey at Northern Michigan University following his time in the USHL.

"We are very happy for Jackson and his family," said Gamblers head coach and general manager Pat Mikesch. "He is a great teammate and continues to improve in all aspects of his game. Northern Michigan is getting a player that will be able to play in every situation from the day he arrives on campus."

This season is Charlesworth's first in the USHL. In 40 games so far this year, the Antigo, WI native has tallied one goal and dished out 11 assists for a total of 12 points on the season.

Prior to his time with the Gamblers, Charlesworth spent two seasons with the Coulee Region Chill (NAHL) and also played for Antigo High (USHS). He was a fifth round selection, 79th overall by Green Bay in the 2016 USHL Phase II Draft.

With Charlesworth's announcement, the Gamblers now have 22 Division I commits on their roster.

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the USHL celebrates its 15th season as the nation's only Tier I junior hockey league in 2016-17.  30 or more players from the USHL have been selected in four consecutive NHL Drafts,  and more than 400 players on team rosters last season committed to NCAA Division I schools, further establishing the USHL as the world’s foremost producer of junior hockey talent.
