Green Bay is now just a single point out of playoff position thanks to their fourth straight victory, a 5-1 home win over in-state rival Madison. The Gamblers jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead three and a half minutes into the game courtesy of goals from John Leonard and Brody Stevens just 18 seconds apart. Jared Spooner and Jason Dhooghe found the back of the net in the middle frame, giving Green Bay a 4-0 advantage heading into the third period. Dhooghe's second of the game two minutes into the final frame made it a 5-0 game before Vincent de Mey got Madison on the board midway through the period to complete the scoring, giving the Gamblers a 5-1 win. Matt Jennings dished out a pair of assists and David Hrenak stopped 24 of the 25 shots he faced to give the St. Cloud State commit his 13th victory of the year between the pipes.

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the USHL celebrates its 15th season as the nation's only Tier I junior hockey league in 2016-17.  30 or more players from the USHL have been selected in four consecutive NHL Drafts,  and more than 400 players on team rosters last season committed to NCAA Division I schools, further establishing the USHL as the world’s foremost producer of junior hockey talent.
