Sioux City now leads both the Western Conference and USHL standings by five points thanks to a 4-0 home shutout of Fargo. After a scoreless opening 20 minutes between the Musketeers and Force, Charlie Kelleher picked up his 17th goal of the season eight minutes into the second period to open the scoring. Sioux City then exploded for three goals in the final 20 minutes, courtesy of Brian Rigalo, Phillip Knies and Matt Hellickson to extend the lead to 4-0 and complete the shutout. Odeen Tufto dished out a pair of assists, and Matiss Kivlenieks stopped all 19 shots he faced for his league-leading 32nd win of the year as well as his fifth shutout of the season. The Musketeers remain 9-1-0-0 in their last 10 games.

Sioux Falls scored the only goal of the opening period, as Khristian Acosta picked up the first goal of his USHL career late in the frame to give the Stampede a 1-0 lead through 20 minutes of play. AJ Villella, Boston Bruins prospect Jack Becker and Josh Passolt found the back of the net for Sioux Falls in the second, while Isaac Johnson got Des Moines on the board, making it a 4-1 game heading into the third period. Matt Jones cut the lead to 4-2 late in the final frame, but Passolt's second of the game five minutes later gave Sioux Falls their second three-goal lead of the contest and complete the scoring. Acosta added three assists in the win, and Winnipeg Jets prospect Mikhail Berdin picked up his 12th win of the season with a 30-save performance.

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the USHL celebrates its 15th season as the nation's only Tier I junior hockey league in 2016-17.  30 or more players from the USHL have been selected in four consecutive NHL Drafts,  and more than 400 players on team rosters last season committed to NCAA Division I schools, further establishing the USHL as the world’s foremost producer of junior hockey talent.
