Bloomington picked up a hard-fought 1-0 win over Green Bay on Thursday night to prevent the Gamblers from clinching the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Thunder controlled the first period, outshooting Green Bay 13-7 in the opening frame, but neither team was able to find the back of the net. Most of the second period also came and went without a goal until Bloomington captain Jake Durflinger scored his 12th of the season with just 1:29 remaining in the middle frame to put the Thunder up 1-0 heading into the third period. The Gamblers were unable to find the back of the net on their 10 shots in the final frame, giving the Thunder the 1-0 shutout. Logan Halladay was outstanding between the pipes for Bloomington, stopping all 29 shots he faced for his 14th win and fourth shutout of his USHL career.

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the USHL celebrates its 15th season as the nation's only Tier I junior hockey league in 2016-17. 30 or more players from the USHL have been selected in four consecutive NHL Drafts,  and more than 400 players on team rosters last season committed to NCAA Division I schools, further establishing the USHL as the world’s foremost producer of junior hockey talent.
