The United States Hockey League and its member clubs announced the dates and times for the 2018 Clark Cup Conference Finals. Team USA and the Youngstown Phantoms will match up in the Eastern Conference Final, while the Waterloo Black Hawks and Fargo Force will face off in the Western Conference Final. The winners of each series will move on to the 2018 Clark Cup Final.
2018 is the second straight season where the top two seeds in the Eastern Conference advanced to the Eastern Conference Final, as the one-seeded Chicago Steel knocked off the second-seeded Dubuque Fighting Saints in the 2017 Clark Cup Playoffs. 2018 is also the second straight season where the number one seed in each conference reached the Conference Finals.
Waterloo looks to become the first team to win both the Anderson Cup and Clark Cup in the same season since the Dubuque Fighting Saints accomplished the feat in 2013. The Black Hawks have also advanced to the Western Conference Final in three straight seasons and four out of five years, and are looking for their first Clark Cup Final appearance since 2014. Fargo is seeking their first trip to the Clark Cup Final since 2013, while both Youngstown and Team USA are aiming to reach the Clark Cup Final for the first time in their respective team's history.
The Conference Finals will be best-of-five series. All Conference Finals games will be broadcasted on ushl.hockeytv.com.
