Des Moines Buccaneers center Mac Welsher announced his commitment to Merrimack College this morning, becoming the 15th college committed player on the Buccaneer roster this season.
“It feels great to be committed to a school like Merrimack,” Welsher said. “I loved the campus, the coaching staff and being able to play in a conference like the Hockey East is a privilege.”
The Grosse Pointe Farms, MI native was acquired this offseason in a trade from Green Bay and has tallied two assists in his first three games as a Buccaneer.
“We are thrilled for Mac and think Merrimack will be a great fit,” Des Moines head coach Gene Reilly said. “He is a great character kid and will be an excellent piece for Merrimack’s program.”
