The Des Moines Buccaneers earned their fourth straight victory and moved into a tie for first place in the Western Conference with their 7-0 shutout of the Sioux Falls Stampede on Sunday afternoon.

Des Moines scored twice in each of the first two periods and three times in the final frame. Sam Renlund and Matt Brown found the back of the net in the first period, and Rylee St. Onge lit the lamp in the middle frame along with Edmonton Oilers prospect Mike Kesselring, making it a 4-0 game through 40 minutes. Brown's goal was his league-leading 13th goal of the year. A Reed Lebster power play goal early in the third period and a Mac Welsher tally just 56 seconds apart early in the third made it a 6-0 game before a Tyler Paquette shorthanded tally completed the scoring, giving Des Moines goals on the power play, penalty kill and at even strength, as well as the 7-0 shutout win.

Anaheim Ducks prospect Roman Durny moved to 7-3-0-0 on the season and earned his first shutout of the year as he stopped all 23 shots he faced.

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the USHL celebrates its 17th season as the nation's only Tier I junior hockey league in 2018-19.
