The Sioux Falls Stampede lost a 3-1 third period lead but were able to come away with a 4-3 shootout win over the Omaha Lancers at Ralston Arena. Omaha's Chase Bradley opened the scoring just 16 seconds into the game, giving the Lancers a 1-0 lead, before Jared Westscott and Jami Krannila scored less than two minutes apart later in the frame, giving Sioux Falls a 2-1 lead through 20 minutes of play. The Stampede extended their lead to two with Anthony Romano's goal 31 seconds into the second period, putting the visitors up 3-1 heading into the third and final frame. Grant Anderson's power play goal less than three minutes into the third made it a 3-2 game, and Omaha tied the game with just two seconds left in regulation, thanks to Jaden Shields' first USHL goal, sending the teams to overtime. Following a scoreless five-minute overtime, Artem Ivanyuzhenkov and Andre Lee scored in the shootout, giving Sioux Falls the 4-3 victory. Chad Veltri stopped 38 of the 41 shots he faced, in addition to three of four shootout attempts, and added an assist for his fourth victory of the season.
