In an annual Thanksgiving game between in-state rivals, the Waterloo Black Hawks defeated the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders 4-1. Following a scoreless first period, Waterloo scored three times in the middle frame, courtesy of Brehdan Engum, Matej Blumel and Vladislav Firstov. Firstov found the back of the net for the second time in the game just 69 seconds into the third period, extending his team's lead to four, before Cedar Rapids' Jordan Tonelli ended the shutout and completed the scoring with his first goal of the season with just six minutes remaining in the game. Joe Cassetti and Emil Ohrvall dished out two assists each in the win. For Ohrvall, his two-assist night gives him eight points (4G, 4A) in his last three games and 14 points (8G, 6A) in his last nine contests. Logan Stein moved to 6-0-1-0 on the season with a 13-save performance between the pipes.
